Event Details

Sponsored by Ethiopia & Eritrea RPCVs and the Embassy of Ethiopia, all PCVs who served in Ethiopia or Eritrea and their guests are invited. There will be plenty of injera and doro wot plus tibs, keke alicha, shero wot and so on. Two drinks will be included in the price. The bar will be serving Meta and Harare beer, tej, California red and white wines and soft drinks. 

LaDena Robichaud-Schnapper (Dessie, Awassa 1963–66) will perform an Ethiopian coffee ceremony. Famed Ethiopian musician Melaku Gelaw and fellow RPCV Charlie Sutton (Addis 1966–68) will play Ethiopian music.

Tickets are a must and should be purchased by September 15th.

The cost covers all catering services (food, servers, bartenders, chef, furniture rentals), rental of equipment for the musical performance, and handling charges for the tickets.

E&E RPCVs was formed for the purposes of:

- promoting world peace and understanding, especially among peoples in the United States, ethiopia and Eritrea;

- informing and educating the general public about other countries, particularly Ethiopia and Eritrea;

- helping to carry out the Third Goal of the Peace Corps — bringing the world back home, and

- promoting opportunities to achieve sustainable economic development and the relief of poverty in Ethiopia and Eritrea.
